Bio

Raised in Missouri, in 2012 I moved to San Francisco to start internet companies. In 2016 I founded The Hustle, a business news media company. I didn't know a THING about media businesses when I started this. But after a while we helped make newsletters popular when few thought they could be (at the time, people dismissed the idea...got 'em!). I started this in my kitchen with $12 when I was around 25 years old. The company grew to 8-figures in revenue with great profits. After 4 years I sold to HubSpot, a publicly traded company in a very successful exit. Now called HubSpot Media, The Hustle has a team of nearly 100 people and is read by 3 million people a day. And even cooler, dozens of our employees went on to found media companies and newsletters. We hired young misfits and we learned the business together...so it makes me proud to see the impact we had on users but also our employee's lives. The Hustle also owned Trends.co, My First Million, and a few other cool things! Before and after The Hustle I've started and sold multiple companies. Will be announcing more soon! I'm still the host of our podcast, My First Million, which is one of the most popular biz podcasts int he world with millions of listeners a month. I'm starting more companies. Second goal in life: never become the type of person who writes his own Linkedin profile in 3rd person. Currently split time in Austin and NYC.
