What gets me up in the morning is undertaking work that is challenging, rewarding and absorbing; particularly coaching people to help them advance in business and in their chosen careers. I am fascinated by leadership and in learning people's stories. My specialities: Coaching, training and guiding clients to achieve their goals. Brokering difficult conversations, negotiating win:win solutions. Strategic planning, goal setting, analysing objectives, determining actions, SWOT analysis, business planning, policy & procedure development, documentation, training, training needs analysis, PR. As a business owner and consultant since 1997, and a management lecturer since 2007 for Auckland University of Technology & Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, I can do, and I can teach. Teaching helps to ensure that my professional development is always up to date: you can't authentically model learning to others if you don't do it yourself. I have served in directing roles since 2003, for the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce, and for the Business Development Company (where I also served as Chair). I have also served as a Director and Chair of a Council Controlled Organisation, Founders Heritage Park, and on the National Executive of the Career Development Association of New Zealand (CDANZ) from 2011-2015, as Treasurer and Communications director. Since 2003 I have been a member of the NZ IOD (Institute of Directors), and since 2012 the Academy of Management and the International Leadership Association. I have been a Professional CDANZ Member since 2000, and a Fellow since 2016. Currently working on my PhD in sport governance with Griffith University.
