I am a bold and visionary software leader, open source pioneer, and rare disease drug developer! I build software in the day and disrupt biotech industry in the night/weekends. Professionally, I have built and launched successful open source projects at companies like Amazon. Personally, I was just a nobody until my son was born with an ultra-rare disease that has no treatments. I made tremendous progress in short order and found several drugs to help my son. I am now starting a new non-profit open source initiative called OpenTreatments to build a software platform that will help bring treatments to 1000s of rare diseases affecting 400 million patients worldwide. I have 10+ years of engineering and leadership experience building products that are used by millions of people worldwide. Previously, I built and launched AWS SAM, an open source product that ended up becoming the industry-standard for serverless application development on AWS.
