I am passionate about Computer Vision and Machine Learning, seeking innovative solutions to solve problems that are technologically challenging and address a significant market need. With over 25 years of experience and 40 patents issued, I have a track record of inventing, creating and growing R&D teams to develop technology that now power many products in use globally. I have an entrepreneurial mindset, and am versatile, this enables me to be hands on and/or a team leader. I have conducted computer vision research, developed vision tools/components, and deployed numerous applications into production. I have applied computer vision technology to inspect: identify documents, checks, shopping carts, pills, semiconductors, fruits, printed circuit boards, diapers, bottles, cans, revolving doors, sliding doors, pedestrians, baseballs, pulse rate, cells, barcodes, etc. Qualifications Computer Vision, Deep Neural Networks, 3D Stereo, Structured Light, C++, Python, Matlab, Cross-Platform Optimizations, Leading Technology/Global teams, Due Diligence, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Product Development, ID Verification, Industrial Automation Key Accomplishments Started the Labs group at Mitek, responsible for the algorithm (and a primary inventor) of the next generation ID verification forensics technology (MobileVerify). Developed the technology Skqueak, a new mobile photo sharing paradigm to add voice, sketch, zoom and text to your pictures, Developed the product APATS (Anti-Piggybacking and Tailgating System) for detecting unauthorized use of access controls systems. Started the 3D group at Cognex to detect and track people in an unstructured environment, that spawned multiple products for people sensing. Developed algorithms for vehicle tracking, lane following, adaptive cruise control & obstacle avoidance for autonomous vehicle navigation. Lead developer for Patmax, a state-of the art, rotation and scale invariant tool for pattern alignment in industrial robotics.
