A medical device executive and entrepreneur, who has founded two medical device companies and has over 20 years of experience in cardiovascular devices at large companies. Experience includes business development, global and US marketing as well as product development of medical devices at Medtronic (stroke treatment devices), Johnson & Johnson (cardiac ablation), Edwards Lifesciences (heart valves) and Abbott Vascular (Stents). Commercialization and Marketing Experience: Led marketing and strategy for interventional oncology business unit at BTG, plc. (now part of Boston Scientific). Led the creation of vascular embolization business at Medtronic/Covidien and grew it to attain a sizable revenue via very attractive year over year growth. The work included managing WW product launches and all aspects of product marketing including portfolio planning & strategy, branding, messaging, promotion, sales training, forecasting, and KOL management. A solid experience of partnering with neuro-interventionalists, interventional radiologists, interventional oncologists, vascular surgeons and interventional cardiologists around the world. Business Development (Acquisitions and Investments): Served as the head of business development for Biosense Webster, a J&J company with over $3b annual revenue, where my responsibilities included deal making for investments and acquisitions. Additionally, I evaluated several investment / acquisition targets while at BTG. Played a key role in acquisitions of start-up companies including the due diligence on and integration of Reverse Medical at Covidien/Medtronic. Product Development Experience: Led the development of Solitaire FR device for revascularization of acute ischemic stroke through various development stages and regulatory clearances. Led the development of Xceed and Absolute Pro peripheral stent systems (including delivery systems) among many other vascular products. I am an inventor on more than 30 issued US patents and numerous International patents. Leadership: Have led large teams including cross-functional and global teams. Demonstrated partnership with various functions, and an ability to create a collaborative environment and highly functional teams. Good listening skills, team player, and mentor to other employees.
