I am a driven & energetic entrepreneur, executive & educator with experiences founding start-ups & also innovating in large, incumbent firms in the Financial Services, Life Sciences & Telecom sectors. I like to be the first one in tackling hard problems; building talented, outcome-oriented teams; investing the time, smarts and capital in new ideas; &, then leveraging strong quantitative & analytic skills, strategic insights & interpersonal relationships to drive business objectives, profitable results & exits. I am currently the Executive Director of Vantage Ventures & also the co-Founder of FinTech Sandbox, a Boston-based not for profit that provides entrepreneurs access to much needed high quality data sets. At Vantage Ventures, we seek to expand the Appalachian economy by providing support & capital to Founders. In both cases, I work directly with relentless problem solvers who are building scalable, investable companies and it gives me great joy . Earlier, I cofounded Capital Market Exchange, a predictive analytics platform leveraging a Bayesian estimation technique, NLP and AI to help institutional bond investors quantify non-financial factors influencing spreads. I was previously the Chief Operating Officer for Innovation at State Street Bank’s Global Exchange division & Head of Innovation Ventures. I was named by Innovate Finance as one of the Top 150 global women leaders in FinTech, Lattice80’s list of Top 100 Women in FinTech in the UK & Hong Kong & NY FinTech Women as a Top 20 inspiration for my commitment to lifting other women up in an industry historically not known for doing so. Our transformative work in WV is featured in a Harvard Business School case & the book ''Silicon Heartland'' I am an Investor & Director at Thread Bank, Rialto and Kalyp in the private asset markets / ATS, digital securities, & Core10 in FinTech software development sectors & advise others. I have also held roles at Fidelity Investments; worked on MCI’s corporate venture team; & launched & led research divisions for Fortune 500 CFO’s & treasurers at the Corporate Executive Board.
