Sebnem Erener is a Managing Legal Counsel at Klarna, also working with Klarna's Policy and Government Affairs team. Her work is at the intersection of law, technology and policy.
With a strong background in EU law and regulatory landscape, Sebnem speaks about responsible lending practices and innovation, consumer credit regulations, payments, embedded finance, EU AI Act, Trustworthy/Ethical AI, EU eID Wallet, electronic IDs and trust services (EIDAS).
Sebnem has made it her professional focus to promote ethical and responsible use of technology. Sebnem is a passionate advocate for the responsible deployment of AI and the protection of human rights in the digital age.
Sebnem is also a guest lecturer at Lund University’s business law and human rights law programmes on digitalisation, surveillance, and trust services. She holds an LLM degree from Lund University, and earlier in her career, she co-founded a litigation NGO in London and worked at the United Nations OHCHR in Geneva.
