I have worn many hats during my professional career. I was lucky during my first job. I had a boss who game me lots of freedom and support. Within a couple of years, I was leading my first team developing a LAN client-server system for tracking inventory in supermarkets. So complex, so much fun. The adventure was just beginning. In my 25+ years of professional career, I have: Designed logical circuits and their respective circuit boards Led a team designing and implementing mission-critical database systems Designed and executed test cases for IS-136 TDMA cellular systems Designed and executed test cases for IS-95 CDMA cellular systems Led the creation of a test automation platform for cellular devices Led the system validation and test for the air interface of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Led field testing in Korea for major deployment of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Led R&D for Voice over IP services over 1xEV-DO Led R&D for Video Telephony services over 1xEV-DO Started and led R&D in Augmented Reality (AR) and Computer Vision (CV) Led Virtual Reality (VR) R&D Started and directed wireless (802.11AD and 5G) split-compute (rendering) research for XR (AR and VR) Mentored many talented individuals The above experience has provided me with a unique understanding of the investments, steps and compromises required for successful technology development and deployment. Specifically in the areas that are most exciting to me: AR, VR and their end to end mobile systems.
