My mission is transforming public service with technology; my purpose is to make a difference, for the better. I am helping Government do better for citizens, I am driving change for good in the tech industry, and I currently do this as IBM Technology’s Global Technical Leader for Government. I am passionate about innovation that matters and applying it in the context of the challenges my clients face, including mounting technical debt and ever-changing priorities resulting from global events such as COVID-19 and the climate crisis. I have 20 years of experience working in outsourcing, consulting, and sales, across multiple sectors and diverse technologies. I was instrumental to the inaugural UK Government and IBM Memorandum of Understanding for Cloud in 2020. You’ll often find me on stage (right now, mostly the virtual one!) championing the positive impact technology can have on our lives, shaping its role in making government work, and advocating for ethical technical advancement. I am also a Chartered IT Professional. I get stuck in to making change happen across the technology industry. I have recently been appointed to the TechUK Justice and Emergency Services management committee. I am a Trustee, Director and board member of various external technology organizations such as BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT. I'm a catalyst for change in inclusion - particularly regarding gender diversity - through BCSWomen, formerly through Scotland Women in Technology, and in supporting other organisations, and am now a published co-author on the subject. I was awarded MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June 2018. Recent accolades include being listed in the Computing IT Leaders 100 for 2022, and entering the Computer Weekly Most Influential Women in UK Tech Hall of Fame, having been included in the top 50 since 2018.
