Bio

I’m a VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX #105), vExpert, and an accomplished virtualization architect, with extensive experience in architecting, optimizing, and troubleshooting small to enterprise-sized virtualized environments, both on-premises and in the public cloud. In addition to my technical skills, I’m seen as someone who always looks outside of the box to find ways to improve both myself and the companies I work for, no matter how complex, time-consuming, or political the situations may be. I write a personal blog (simonlong.co.uk) on which I post about various virtualization and cloud topics ranging from configuration guides, product reviews, and technical tips. I’m a well-known member of the virtualization community, a key contributor via social networks, I’ve presented at VMworld conferences for the last 7 years and regularly at VMware User Group meetings (VMUGs). I'm the presenter of The VCDX Podcast and co-founder of vbeers.org which is a virtualization-focused community.
