Sophia has 18 years of multidisciplinary experience across financial services in the UK, Germany and France in roles ranging from Chief of Staff, business planning, innovation labs & start-up mentoring, communications, advisory roles, running a regulatory team for the EMEA region, commercialisation of regulation, advertising and the FX options desk. These roles were held at leading financial services firms and 2 financial regulators. Sophia is currently an Analyst at Citi where she predicts the future of financial services. Her work is at the intersection of regulation, technology and innovation and her latest passion is understanding and explaining the Metaverse (publication below) She has worked on 2 high impact projects to make the financial services industry safer: delivered and drafted from scratch the world’s first binding rules on executive pay and banker’s remuneration (publication below) and global accounting rules post Enron scandal. Sophia is on the Advisory Board of 2 female led tech businesses (NFT and fashion technology) and enjoys helping small firms grow and develop their product offerings. She speaks 5 languages, has a double law degree and a Master’s in European Business from leading institutions: UCL (University College London) and ESCP Europe. She has studied and worked in the UK, France and Germany.
