Souheil Badran is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at US Bank. He joined US Bank from Northwestern Mutual, the largest U.S. provider of life insurance and manager of more than $265 billion in policyholder assets. He oversaw the company’s service operations which includes new business service, risk and investments servicing and policy benefits for all products, and served as a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team. His organization was also responsible for the company’s center of excellence around enterprise operational efficiency and performance. Badran joined the NM in 2019 as Chief Innovation Officer and was responsible for identifying opportunities in innovation communities and overseeing Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Cream City Venture Capital, and the Wisconn Valley Venture Fund. Throughout his career, Badran gained global experience across the ecommerce, big data, security, and payment industries, working with organizations that ranged from venture capital-funded, private equity-owned to various public companies. Before joining Northwestern Mutual, he served as president of Alipay Americas, the world’s largest third-party payment platform, where he was responsible for enhancing the buying experience of millions of Chinese consumers by bringing mobile and online payments to merchants in North and South America. Prior to Alipay, Badran served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Edo Interactive, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital River, and Senior Vice President and General Manager for First Data Corporation’s Ecommerce Solutions Group. He began his career in Milwaukee at M&I Data Services. Badran, born in Lebanon, graduated from Cardinal Stritch University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science degree and a master’s degree in business administration. He serves on the Boards of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and City Forward Collective. A passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion, he also chaired Northwestern Mutual’s Hispanic Employee Resource Group and writes and speaks frequently on allyship.
