I have a passion for commercializing deep tech, with over 20 years bringing to market nanomaterials/nanotechnologies, flexible printed electronics, and advanced thermal processing for wide-ranging applications in consumer electronics, wearables, automotive, photovoltaics, and others. Most of us have, use, or ride in products which incorporate these technologies. Deep tech to me is special because of the extremely high levels of innovation required on the tech side of course, but also because of the relationship-building required internally and externally to be successful. Synchronizing alignment of business opportunities with the tech development takes a lot of communication, and observation, and careful timing. It’s a lot of moving pieces, and brings a lot of satisfaction when they line up the right way and real value is created.
