Steve has more than 30 years of experience, in the design, development, integration and operation of technology solutions in the transport sector, spanning business leadership, programme delivery, and strategic consultancy. Applications have included AVM/AVL/RTPI, mobility-as-a-service (MaaS), ticketing and revenue management, journey planning, highway control, communications and information systems, road user charging, communication networks, and asset management. Recent experience includes acting as adviser on several AVM bids, acting as Programme Director of the Integrated and Smart Travel Programme at Transport for the North spanning passenger information and ticketing, and Delivery Director for a major AVM and AFC delivery programme in Saudi Arabia. Between 2006 and 2016 Steve was an Executive Director at Rail Delivery Group responsible for fares and ticketing systems on the railway. Earlier in career delivered consistent growth in ITS business in Serco and Atkins winning and/or directing several major ITS systems integration programmes including a £180M National Traffic Control Centre programme, an £80M smart card programme, and a £25M road tolling programme each through to introduction to service. Particularly used to working in complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-national environments, often including central government and transport authorities.
