Bio

I am a respected thought leader in the Travel and Transportation industry, in part because I conduct research on the sector, and in part because I served the industry as a strategy consultant since 1998. Much of my work has been in the service of large passenger airlines, where I devoted considerable time to improving the performance of the sales, marketing, operations, and distribution functions, and working with several carriers before, during, and after the bankruptcy process. I have advised airline executives inside and outside of the US, and have also assisted major hotels, rental car companies, and global transportation services providers. On my longest project I led, as program manager, a merger between two large logistics service providers. I reported directly to the CEO and was responsible for overseeing merger and post-merger integration for the company. In June of 2010 I took an additional position at IBM in the Institute for Business Value to develop white papers for the travel and transportation sectors. I am frequently asked by current and former clients as well as a host of associations and experts to speak to audiences of all sizes on the trends and challenges facing the industries I have served for almost two decades. My research, writing, and speaking has been quoted in the New York Times, Forbes, The Economist, and several industry trade publications over the years.
