As the Founder and CEO of WeAre8, I am committed to bringing a positive social media experience to hundreds of millions of people, all while sharing the majority of the advertiser money with people, creators and causes. WeAre8 was built to inspire people to own their voices and be rewarded for who they are and their valuable time. Sue has spent 30 years creating disruptive businesses in the media and tech economies. I am fueled by my belief that people should be at the economic center of the media ecosystem and there is a better way for brands to engage people than bombarding them with ads across the web. Prior to WeAre8, I was the Founder and CEO of the world’s leading media data company, Standard Media Index (SMI) with operations in North America, APAC, and Europe, quickly becoming the preeminent source of ad spend intelligence fueling decisions in the world’s leading media and finance companies including Disney, Viacom, Warner Media and Goldman Sachs. At 21 years old, I created the largest sponsorship business in the Asia Pacific, with a team of over 100 people, and offices in four countries. She negotiated eight of the Sydney 2000 Olympic sponsorships and built the first digital platforms to support the viewing experiences with the major television networks. I then moved to China and was founded a technology-driven sports and entertainment company that structured and negotiated the 2002 World Cup TV/ Digital rights and spearheaded lifestyle television programming in China. I am transforming the way advertising and technology can drive personalized relationships between people and the brands they love. I passionately believes in the power of people coming together to solve the worlds biggest problems and sharing in the wealth rather than the status quo where people are the largest unpaid workforce in human history. I am a mom of three boys and serve on the boards of SMI and my university alma mater.
