Susannah George is an award winning entrepreneur and founder of Urban List — an indie media house launched from her bedroom in 2011 that has grown to become the #1 destination for culture seekers in Asia Pacific. Today, Urban List connects a community of 3M+ with quality experiences to buy, book, eat, stream and do, serving 30,000+ recommendations an hour across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The company's proprietary formula blends social influence and tech, pairing brands with an audience actively in market, ready to convert. And their reputation for high-value content gives consumers confidence in the buying and booking choices they make. In 2021, Urban List was awarded Australian Media Brand Of The Year, celebrating their influence on the media landscape and commitment to having a positive cultural impact — on people and the planet — working to shine a light on underrepresented voices and perspectives, and proving the good life can mean living more sustainably. Susannah was named QUT inaugural Outstanding Entrepreneurial Alumnus (2021), was recognised as a national finalist in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards (2019), and listed among the most influential voices in media as B&T’s Media Woman Of The Year (2015). Alongside her founder journey, Susannah plays a leadership role in the George family group of businesses, including the role of CEO of Plate Impressions — the world's largest number plate marketing company. She is passionate about contributing to the wider community through her roles as board director for Queensland Ballet, entrepreneurship mentor at QUT, ambassador for The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women initiative; and membership of Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) and Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO). Her deepest loves and greatest teachers are her two children — Xavier and Beatrix.
