As founding CEO and President of MaxSold, I led the creation of a unique marketplace in the “recommerce” space with cross-border expansion and growth into 30+ metros in 24 states in the US and three provinces in Canada starting with just $50,000 in initial investment. When I exited MaxSold in 2022, the business had nearly 500 employees with valuation in the high 8-figures (and last twelve months sales north of $30 Million.) Through my leadership, MaxSold achieved Financial Times fastest growing companies in Americas’ list (2020 and 2021), four times in Growth 500 (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) and three times in Globe & Mail Top 400 (2020, 2021, 2022). Core skills: ☀️Relentless focus and execution discipline in applying lean start-up principles to go from idea to inception (the infamous $0 to $1 Million revenue, which is the hardest) ☀️ Revenue growth and region by region expansion with proven go-to-market sales and marketing strategies, key operational and tech systems, team building and deep client relationships (bootstrapped and successfully navigated scaling past $10 Million annual revenue, which comes with its unique set of challenges) ☀️ Financial strategies for scale-up, including building networks with VCs and leading Series A and B Venture Capital raises with in-depth multi-month financial, operational, technology, sales/marketing and talent due-diligence (scaling the business to $30+ annual sales before the Series B raise) I’m also a pilot with a Commercial and Instrument rating, and own a high-performance twin engine airplane (the same type piloted by Sam Walton, founder of Walmart) that allows me to expand my range to build deep partnerships. I hold a Masters in Business Administration from the Queen's University and a degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University. I’m an active mentor to ambitious entrepreneurs. During my “down time” you will find me running (listening to podcasts), playing (marginally okay) golf, reading books (trying to educate myself beyond my level of intelligence) and taking my two kids on adventures (with them taking turns as co-pilots).
