Experienced visionary leader with a demonstrated track record of entrepreneurship in the art and hospitality sectors. Skilled in Contemporary Art, Strategic Planning and execution. Tal Danai founded ArtLink (www.artlink.com) in 1996 to develop a pioneering global market segment for young and emerging art and make the art of our time available, accessible and affordable to the world. In 1997, Sotheby’s joined ArtLink for the ArtLink@Sotheby’s International Young Art program, and the two companies set out to build the infrastructure of the new market segment. ArtLink broke the traditional convention, which saw the only possible structure supporting young artists as a publicly or privately funded not for profit organization. It presented a new entrepreneurial business model on a global level, and paved the way for many others to follow. In 1999 ArtLink held the world’s first live-online auction, through its own proprietary system, and in the same year was awarded by the title of “the most exciting business in the art market in decades” by CNN. In 2020, starting from zero two and a half decades earlier, the current segment of emerging art market now hosts 90% of all global art sales and touches the lives of millions of people. Following the success of its first groundbreaking model, ArtLink developed another pioneering model and ventured into the hospitality market sector, offering professional art curation and provision expertise. It is now the leader in its market and has completed over 140 hotel and cruise ship projects worldwide. Prior to founding ArtLink, Mr. Danai was involved in a number of other businesses and completed academic degrees in Art, Business Management and Law. He holds the rank of Dan III Black belt in Kyokushin karate and the rank of Wood Badge of the international Scouts organization.
