The pros and cons of the relationship between humans and technology are often debated, however in my experience, it has been a thrilling adventure. In fact, my passion for technology has been with me since I started at Deutsche Telekom all the way back in 1986 and it still motivates me today. My dedication to it allows me to act as an experienced mediator between cyber security and general management. This allows me to translate and communicate the concerns of both sides in the most coherent way possible. In my experience, IT security is an ongoing effort, not a project that you simply complete. As Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Deutsche Telekom, I’m not only a thought leader for all security matters, but I’m a proactive trainer and I even find solutions by bouncing ideas off our employees and customers. While technology evolves all the time, people are a constant and are key to a strong and sustainable security strategy – a capability that no company can do without today.
