Inflammatix is a molecular diagnostics startup based on Stanford University research that leverages machine learning and immune system 'big data' to create diagnostic disease 'fingerprints'. We are developing rapid, point-of-care tests for acute infections and critical illness. The first, TriVerity(TM), will be intended for hospital use to help diagnose and risk-stratify patients with acute infections. The second test, BacVerity(TM), will be able to diagnose a patient with a bacterial or viral infection using a fingerprick blood sample (for instance, a child in a pediatrician’s office presenting with a suspected infection). Inflammatix rapid tests will revolutionize the traditional physician encounter by taking the guesswork out of antibiotic prescribing. Early intervention and treatment could save thousands of lives while also reducing health system costs (published economic models suggest substantial cost savings with TriVerity). Inflammatix will later focus on bringing its bioinformatics platforms to address clinical needs in chronic disease and therapy response prediction.
