Bio

R&D manager of the Thin-Film Photovoltaics Technology team at imec-imomec, with a strong background in thin film processing and characterization, photovoltaics and organic electronics. Currently this group focusses its activities around two main thin-film PV technologies: - inorganic copper-indium-gallium-selenide/sulfide (CIGS), and - the emerging hybrid metal-organic perovskite-based cells whereby these technologies also form a basis for fully thin-film as well as Si-based tandems Experienced in setting up project proposals, contributing and managing of project execution, for small as well as large scale projects. Exemplary for this was my role as coordinator of the European funded project ESPresSo, on the development of low-cost, stable, perovskite solar cells and modules, involving 13 partners that compose a complete and unique research and development consortium, from academic partners, research centers, SMEs, and large companies. This Thin-Film Photovoltaics Technology team at imec-imomec is part of EnergyVille and Solliance. EnergyVille (http://www.energyville.be/) is a collaboration of the Flemish research centers KU Leuven, VITO, imec and UHasselt in the field of sustainable energy and intelligent energy systems. Solliance (http://www.solliance.eu/) is a collaboration between research centers and universities in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany working in thin film photovoltaic solar energy.
