Co-creator of Dolby Atmos, from research to product. Currently creating Living Assets (NFT 2.0) as CTO & Co-Founder at Freeverse. In love with the web3. Research Director at Dolby (2012-2019), where I landed via the acquisition of ImmSound. At Dolby we helped Atmos technology expand beyond cinema, and penetrate the video game & the music industries, finally reaching tens of millions of users in more than 90 countries. Formerly co-founder and R&D Director of ImmSound (B2B tech startup, 3D sound for cinema), which Dolby acquired in 2012, and whose core technology, and worldwide cinema installations, became part of Dolby Atmos. ImmSound became a sort of Dolby R&D Barcelona, which grew over the years, hired truly great new talent, and led key products and projects. Further back: I spent the first half of my professional life in String Theory and Quantum Gravity (PhD in Barcelona, Postdoc at Imperial College of London). More Maths than Physics? Time will tell :-) Author of 30+ patents. I love everything around building hard tech, especially the human side. Building teams from scratch, attracting international young and senior talent, and helping extremely different personalities grow and converge around the joy of building something together.
