Bio

I am a lead architect for IBM Cloud Pak for Data, driving the platform aspects, ensuring we deliver a consistent experience for personas across the full spectrum of data and AI. I spend time on data fabrics, data warehousing, AI & ML runtimes, and general platform ''plumbing''. I drive the direction and architecture of the platform. I have a hands on approach and ensure it delivers new capabilities on a regular cadence both to the IBM Cloud (public) and the IBM Hybrid cloud: IBM Cloud Platform for Data. My previous role was technical leader for IBM OpenScale, which focused on trust and transparency in AI. In 2013 I led the architecture of a big data virtual appliance that included closely coupled DB2 BLU and Cognos capabilities. I spent the several years of my career (until 2012) in the area of virtual machine design and implementation, most significantly on the IBM IBM Java team, on the J9 JVM (now OpenJ9). Specialties: Cloud architecture, data platforms, Virtual Machine architecture. Consumability and serviceability strategy and implementation.
