Verena Ziegler is founder and CEO of BEAWEAR. She is the creative head to think fashion from the perspective of the individual body, an idea she developed throughout her PhD studies. Rather than adapting individual bodies to standardized norms and rules (S-XL), the patented BEAWEAR software explores individuality, identity and the arising of a new transient generation. Verena conducts research and teaches in the area of embodied interaction- and computational design, with an emphasis on new materialism and post-humanist theory. In Verena`s general research and various teaching formats, she explores utopianism futures through practical prototyping and building of experimental machines and robots, to explore post-digital, sensory and embodied engagements with technologies. Verena is a Researcher and Lecturer at Zurich University of Arts (ZHdK) Department Interaction Design, trained as Architect and Textile Designer and undertaking her PhD research at University of Arts Linz, University of Arts Zurich in cooperation with University of Applied Sciences Konstanz.
