As firms become attuned to sustainability and their impact on the environment and society, I am privileged to serve financial clients within these fast-evolving fields, supporting investors, and ultimately citizens, in participating. The shift toward sustainability – a response to investor drivers and consumer interests – enables investors to positively reallocate capital towards solving the world's most pressing environmental and societal issues, alongside delivering outperformance. My work connects and reflects my deep commitment to driving impact for sustainability-related outcomes within the financial services sector, and my personal beliefs in the importance of conserving our natural world. As part of a number of governmental and international sustainable finance advisory groups, my expertise enables me to bring a deep understanding of the differing needs of businesses undertaking their own sustainability journey - an area they are increasingly looking to address. Most recently the launch of the Benchmark for Nature project brings together leading conservation scientists with the investment industry to solve the challenge of understanding the impact of capital allocation decisions on nature. Prior to joining FNZ in 2019, a decade of experience at global asset management firm Investec Asset Management, becoming Ninety One, has provided me with a deep understanding of embedding sustainability and corporate social responsibility considerations into corporate programs, solutions, and internal and external messages. As part of this, I was honoured to be part of the team leading the firm's flagship CSR initiative, the Tusk Conservation Awards in partnership with Investec Asset Management. In every role, I have enjoyed working in creative, collaborative cultures where I can initiate projects, support my colleagues in building value, and work with individuals and teams across the organisation.
