Bio

Walter is principal consultant and founder of ECD Compliance. He works with product manufacturers, suppliers, certification bodies, and standards development organizations on global regulatory requirements, standards, eco-labels, and development of environmental compliance and sustainability solutions. This includes envirionmental regulations such as RoHS, REACH, energy efficiency, and implementation of environmental performance standards. He has contributed to the development of several International Environmental Standards and is the chair of the Canadian mirror committees for: • IEC/TC111 (Environmental Standardization for Electronics) and • ISO/IEC JTC1/SC39 (Sustainability for and by Information Technology). Walter is experienced in assisting organizations achieve environmental objectives and ecolabels such as EPEAT and is contributing to the development of future EPEAT standards. Prior to his current role, Walter has led product design and engineering, quality and reliability engineering, conformity assurance, and supply chain management functions in previous positions.
