Bio

In 2012 I created the podcast This Is Actually Happening, a storytelling podcast featuring uncanny, extraordinary true stories of events that have dramatically altered the lives of ordinary people. Growing and evolving the show from a small side project into a weekly show, now part of the Wondery network, that has over 1 million unique listeners a month has been one the greatest gifts of my life. In addition to the podcast, I occasionally produce and direct documentary films, including a feature length documentary, ''All Contained in Void,'' which premiered at the SF Indiefest in 2015. In a parallel life, I have a PhD in Social Psychology, and for over a decade my work focused on behavior change, workplace cognition and accelerated innovation through experiential learning. I have led design, research and implementation efforts on numerous immersive learning engagements and developed a suite of simulation-based, virtual reality and face-to-face products to help accelerate expertise across a variety sectors, including mining, project management, finance, and education. I feel lucky in my life to have such diverse opportunities to explore the outer limits of human psychology, how we make sense of a complex world, how we change and transform, blending insights from in depth interviews on trauma and transformation, as well as cognitive science, business, and creative pursuits to explore a wide spectrum of human behavior.
