Hi-tech companies in the San Francisco bay area are constantly striving to create innovative products and translate them into business. But many of those companies are struggling to articulate a compelling story that stands out from the competition. That's one of the key reasons product marketing is critical to the success of any ''go to market'' plan. As a product marketeer, my passion is to create and tell a great story to the market, a story that provokes the target audience to want to hear more. To achieve that, I first identify who I'm selling to - the ''buyer persona'', and understand their needs and how to ''speak their language''. Then, I create concise messages that explain and quantify the value proposition. Finally, and most importantly, I articulate my differentiation vs. the competition. Based on this core story, many external and internal marketing collateral and communications can be driven, delivering the same consistent messages.
