Hello, I'm Yury Vasilkov, CEO of Gamaya, a Swiss-based AgTech startup. My mission is to establish Gamaya as a key player in the agriculture decarbonization space by helping to measure the environmental impact of farming and driving the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices at scale. As a land use planning engineer, I'm passionate about establishing sustainable cultivation systems that reduce the carbon footprint of farming, improve soil health, and increase agricultural resilience to future climate change challenges. Today, I lead Gamaya through a pivot, where we're reestablishing ourselves with a focus on sugarcane. We're expanding our global footprint with growers in Brazil, the US, Southern Africa, and India while building new products to enable Carbon Framing. Before Gamaya, I led the establishment of a unique business model at Intterra, creating the most popular independent digital agronomic platform in the CIS and Eastern Europe. With over 10 years of commercial experience at Syngenta, I've established new business models, driven commercial transformation, and led large-scale commercial organizations. My experience in both corporate and startup environments allows me to bring agile management methods to organizations, leading the development and successful commercialization of innovation. I've faced and overcome financial and legal challenges that startups normally face, gaining valuable management experience that can help companies avoid business failure and unwanted consequences for all stakeholders.
