IT can not exist just for being there, it needs to actively influence a companies success and provide value in one of two ways: • Drive revenue up • Drive costs down At the beginning of a customer journey is always the development or adjustment of an overall IT strategy for the complete enterprise which needs to align towards the overall enterprise goals and targets. More important it needs to show why and how they can be achieved with IT. Most modern IT challenges can be solved by a modern cloud strategy, however it is not always a public cloud, it might be on-premises, it might be self-, partial or fully managed by someone else. It could be a hybrid or multi-cloud strategy. It even doesn't matter whether this is with any of the big hyperscalers like AWS, Google, Microsoft etc. or a small provider. It needs to fit the companies and corporate requirements.
