My business cards say such things as CDO, CTO, strategist and change agent. But when you get right down to it, I am much more - marketer, storyteller, entrepreneur, blogger, coach, digital leader, experienced executive. As a senior executive with a strong product focus and 20+ years experience leading large scale transformation efforts, I have seen the best and worst of how organizations approach change. Product focus, design thinking and time to value are key ingredients of a modern customer obsessed organization. The very nature of Enterprise continues to change rapidly, and business and IT leaders are shifting attention to holistic business ecosystem and platform design, with technology as a differentiating amplifier rather than a cost center. Digital, APIs, Mobile, Cloud, Big Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence... terms with a technical origin but leading to a fundamental change in possibilities and expectations for the end user experience. Consequently the role of Technology is at a major inflection point and thought leading enterprises integrate elements from the traditional roles of Chief Digital Officer, CIO, CTO, Chief Architect, Chief Data Officer and Chief Innovation Officer under a new breed of technical leader.
