Criminologist working to make people and places safer by bringing AI/IoT enabled science2practice:

The goal is to safeguard the vulnerable by reducing individual/crew crime attempts. Some keys:

1. Better understand causal mechanisms: crime events result from the interaction of environmental, situational, and personal factors;

2. Affect offender decisions by changing their perceptions in varying situations.

3. Deploy tested sensors and countermeasures with better protective mechanisms-of-action since protective efforts can deter and disrupt offenders along their crime journey

The UF Crime Prevention Research Team based in the UF Wertheim College of Engineering's FLEX program works to improve supply chain, store, office, and parking lot processes and safety.

Also, Director of the Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC), a Research and Results Community of over 70 major retail and restaurant chains, over 100 top tech and security solution companies, industry associations, and high-loss product manufacturers.
