Bio

He was born in Istanbul in 24th January 1988. He studied Communication Design and Cinema Directing at Istanbul Kultur University. He won more than 10 international awards for his films and video art works. He completed his Master’s Degree in Cinema-TV at Kadir Has University. He was the head of the cinema department for 4 years at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center. In 2014, he wrote the interactive film making book called Making Movie Without Money. He is co-founder of Recontact Games which combines cinema & video games into a new art form through pioneering technologies. His first game Recontact Istanbul won “The Best Game Award by App Store”. Video games were also exhibited in art galleries such as Pera Museum as an extension of video art. It was also awarded The Best App award at the Los Angeles New Media Film Festival. He completed his (Ph.D.) Proficiency in Arts, Cinema-TV at Beykent University. His second video game Eyes of Sky debuted on platforms as the world’s first cinematographic game and won international awards such as IMGA San Francisco. Dinç is also the co-founder of Kıraarthane which is a social impact project provides free new media art design to village children. Dr. Eray Dinç is Head of Digital Game Design Department and Asst. Professor in Beykent University, Faculty of Visual Communication. His passion to use the camera as a narrative tool.
