Bio

Since 2008, I've served as president and CEO of Lumina Foundation, an independent, private philanthropy committed to making opportunities for learning after high school available to all. I'm an author, a media commentator and contributor, and a trustee and board member for many different organizations. I also have been an advisor and consultant on the global stage, including my service as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Last, but not least: I live in Indianapolis, with my wife, Colleen O'Brien, and our children, Benjamin and Elizabeth.
