In a world where AI-enabled voice assistance will be the primary interface to the internet and all IOT sytems, voice must be worthy of consumer trust -- which means standards-based, data protected, accessible, and interoperable. Thus, The Open Voice Network. An association of enterprises and technologists, working as an open-source community of the Linux Foundation, dedicated to a future of AI-voice that gives voice to everyone. Our work will be three-fold: research toward the proposal of standards; the raising of awareness (value propositions to best practices to consumer behavior to providers); the support of policy advocacy.
