Karah Sutton is a New Zealand/American author and video game executive.
In video games, she is currently the Chief Publishing Officer at New Zealand-based developer and publisher PikPok, where she has worked on more than 25 games across console, PC, mobile, and VR, and has grown the publishing side of the business to a team of 20 overseeing marketing, UA, ad monetisation, licensing, PR, CS, and community management. PikPok's games have been downloaded more than half a billion times worldwide, honored with DICE and BAFTA nominations, and has enabled Karah to work with some of the world's most beloved entertainment companies, including Netflix, Disney, Sony, and Cartoon Network.
She has two books published by Knopf Books for Young Readers (part of Penguin Random House), and been nominated for reader favorite distinctions including the Goodreads Choice Award (where she was a top 20 children's book for 2021) and industry accolades such as the American Bookseller Association's "Indies Introduce" list, naming the best children's books for fall of 2020. Publishers Weekly called her debut A Wolf for a Spell "charming... fun and twisty... timeless."
She is experienced at speaking about communications, marketing, self-publishing video games, writing and creativity, and the experiences of being a woman in tech. Experience as both a creator and publisher means she is uniquely positioned as an audience and user experience advocate within an organisation, and can foster cross-departmental collaboration between those who develop products and those who sell them.
