Bio

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." (African proverb)

Throughout my career, I've been an agent for change and a fierce advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. I owe that to the influence my family, particularly my parents and grandparents, had on me as a child. They instilled the importance of education, hard work, perseverance, service to others, and most importantly fairness. It is that dedication to fairness that has led me to become a data-driven educator and practitioner in HR and a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion. It drives me to act, lead, and serve my community, all communities.

I currently have the privilege of serving as Target's Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, where my team and I are responsible for leading and advancing those strategies. I am a founding member of Target's Racial Equity Action and Change (REACH) committee, which is tasked with urgently advancing our diversity, equity, and inclusion work for Black team members, guests and communities. I started as an Executive Team Leader at Target, where I learned about the business, how to provide a great shopping experience and how to lead people. Since then and throughout my 20-year tenure at Target, I've had the opportunity to tackle many leadership roles across the business, including merchandising, operations, process and project management, and HR.

Target has had a diversity, equity and inclusion strategy for more than 15 years — it's part of our core values, shapes our culture and drives our business. My goal at Target is to instill an ecosystem approach to DE&I, one where our entire workforce — from team members to board members — understand the role they play in driving a diverse and inclusive workplace, cultivating a diverse work environment, creating an inclusive guest experience and having an impact on the communities where we do business.

I live in Target's hometown of Minneapolis with my husband and four beautiful children. In my spare time, you can find me practicing and teaching yoga.
