My blog. What gives places meaning to the people who live and work there? And why does it matter? mirandaplowden.com A design professional with experience of front-line community regeneration and in a range of leadership roles, I am interested in the dynamic between people and place: how changing people's opportunities can influence the places they live in and how changing the look and feel of neighbourhoods can influence people's confidence and expectations. At SYHA I am exploring how we can deliver affordable housing more cost effectively, how housing can be part of the solution to the problems facing the UK's health and social care system and how we can make our services more joyful through using culture and the arts. I have over 25 years' experience across all aspects of the regeneration, housing and neighbourhood renewal process in consultancy, in the third sector, in government agencies and in local government. My work in north Sheffield has won a series of awards, national and local.
