Bio

Steven Moelk is an accomplished leader and entrepreneur in the last mile logistics space. Today he is on the cutting edge of technology as he leads IKEA towards electrifying all of their home deliveries in the US. In this role he has developed an innovative business model to promote EV adoption in the commercial space. He regularly meets with OEMs, logistics companies and government officials to help shape the EV environment of the future. Prior to joining IKEA, he helped form Urban Express in 2001, which became New York's largest same day delivery service. Buying out the principal founder in 2008, Mr. Moelk became the company's CEO. Rebranding as UX Specialized Logistics, the company expanded into home delivery and assembly services, more than tripling the size of the organization to over $120M in annual revenue. Mr. Moelk oversaw this growth, managed the company through the financial crisis of 08/09 and expanded the company geographically into over 20 hub locations across the eastern US and Canada. In the process UX became the largest home delivery provider for IKEA in North America. Working with his private equity partners, Mr. Moelk orchestrated the sale of UX to XPO Logistics in 2015. He has worked at XPO to maintain his key client relationships and to expand home delivery services to XPO's European division. There he was instrumental in selling over $20M of home delivery services to IKEA in both the UK and Holland. Mr. Moelk has a MBA in Finance from Hofstra University and lives with his wife and family in Ridgewood, NJ.
