From Africa Rising to Africa Resilient, I've watched the last 18 years from the best seat at the table: a local one. Based in Nairobi with an emerging market focus, I am an Investment Banker by profession with 28 years experience. An Infrastructure Specialist with experience in Public-Private Partnerships and Project Financing. I started in Eastern Europe doing mass privatisation deals after the fall of the Soviet Union in the mid 90s. I then worked on deals in Asia and the Indian subcontinent. I also worked on transactions in Central America in Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize among others. All based out of the eastern seaboard of the US. I moved to Africa in 2004 to take on a senior leadership role at PwC based out of Kenya serving the African region. Until recently, I served as Managing Director Development & Investments at General Electric Africa. I am now the Chairman & Chief Executive of *Full Circle Africa - a proprietary investment firm. I've had the opportunity to see first-hand, how the right investment in infrastructure for emerging markets can transform nations & economies. Over my career I have led deals worth $15-billion of financings worldwide and having worked on deals in over 30 countries. Today *Full Circle is focused on: - Venture deals: Seed to A rounds with an Africa focus; - Commercial Real Estate & Industrial Finance; - Leveraged deals and hospitality assets: We will look at value deals in the leveraged space and always entertain a pitch on a hotel or a F&B asset. Across the continent, I'm excited by the return of Diaspora, the exuberance of young entrepreneurs, the zeal of emerging corporate leaders and the resilience and potential for the continent. I support young entrepreneurs in the region through mentorship. I am an avid supporter and collector of East African art.
